The best Ive found so far. Keeps track of my bank accounts, spending and is always available
Thanks for all the hard work you guys are doing to keep this service free. Got the email about not charging for the app and not monetizing through advertisements, and thought that was pretty cool. Thanks, Moneytree.
I have tried this various with various institutions and works good. Keep it up.
I only one gripe- it hardly ever updates, making it "miss the point" of tracking transactions sometimes. Only 1 refresh per week. I use it and like it enough. Has online, too. Good!
I wish notifications were a little better.
Two years ago, I wasnt able to leave a very positive review, but Moneytree has improved by leaps and bounds—I think I will be using it frequently now, perhaps especially the Web interface since I prefer to do any serious banking on a computer. The web interface for Moneytree is amazing, with the exception of a couple issues that can be worked around. Ill cover anything that may signify a flaw, in my opinion, for both web & mobile here. These things are what detract from a 5-star rating for me. 1) Mobile/web: when starting to use the service, it still only imports a year or so of history, even if more data are available from the bank. If they want to offer the utmost utility to all users & give people a good first impression, they shouldnt limit this. 2) Web state/navigation continuity: if you navigate to a page in transaction history and then tap see more, then modify a transaction type for something below that fold, the page refreshes and is collapsed again (i.e. the thing you just edited is hidden). 3) Web search: cant search over your entire transaction history. In fact it appears that it could be limited to 1 month (the currently displayed month), but not too sure. 4) Mobile/web: it would be nice if I could nickname accounts (i.e. change the display name). As a native English speaker able to speak Japanese but not accustomed to kanji, less kanji is better—so Id like to change the labels of accounts that currently seem to be prescribed by the bank (matching the banks product names in Japanese).
I keep track of my cash expenses with Moneytree religiously. And it ended up being a lifesaver around tax time - way better than dealing with a box full of receipts. The graphs are a quick and beautiful way to figure out how Im doing financially.
This is a fantastic app for those in Japan, especially if you have more than one bank account and a credit card or two. Having everything in one place in a clean, easy to read format is a godsend. Thank you!
Currently only available in Japan but a real pain-saver
money fowardよりもシンプルで見やすい!気に入ってます。 有償版も検討中です
The app itself is amazing, but there is a problem about JP bank account transaction history not update in the version. Please fix it, thanks :)
Easiest way to check my balances and recent transactions. Saves time and the real time updates are great.
This app seemed great at first. It is not. Syncing only Mizuho bank account the actual bank balance was off by 200,000 yen, despite not making any transactions for a week. This app seemed promising but I have to say its unreliable and thus useless. My wife has had the same problems with her account differing by hundreds of thousands of yen. I will no longer use it.
The best bank-connected money manager on the market here in Japan. And the only useable one really. Great job guys! Keep it up!
Japanese banks net presence is almost uniformly awful in my experience, but once you get things set up in Moneytree then at least checking your balance is super easy. (All of my banks are supported.) The only addition I would like is the ability to import data to the cash wallet feature. I have years worth of similar data in another app, and it would be great to be able to move everything to Moneytree.
If you have banks accounts in Japan, you must have this app.
Very concise and easy to see the "big picture" of your finances!
The automatic account updates for bank accounts and credit cards are a killer feature. One suggestion: show totals for expenses per category so that I can review budgeting.
Agree with above poster - fantastic already, but would love to see a way to organize expenses or incomes. i.e. How much did I spend on trains this year? Or shopping? Or rent?
